Medha

Every year in India, millions of young people complete their education only to find themselves unprepared for the realities of the professional world. Medha exists to change that. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, Medha helps young people start rewarding careers by providing 21st century skills training, career counseling, and ongoing job placement support.

Founded in 2011, Medha has grown from a small pilot with 150 students across 11 institutions in Lucknow to a movement reaching over 440,000 youth across India's most under-resourced states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Haryana. The organization partners with state governments, educational institutions, industry leaders, and CSR initiatives to design curricula and bridge the academic-industry divide.

Medha's student-centric approach focuses on three primary outcomes: workplace engagement, income growth, and increasing female labor force participation. Through bootcamps covering professional skills, life skills, and technology proficiency, along with alumni support networks, the organization empowers young people to pursue careers of their choice regardless of gender, class, or caste. With an audacious goal to impact one million youth by 2026, Medha is building an India with equal career opportunities for all.
