We are currently seeking candidates for the following position, based in the Dublin office:

Sustainable Investment Solutions Analyst

Mercer's Investment Solutions International Sustainable Investment Solutions Team is actively searching for a candidate with an interest and some experience in ESG and sustainability. In addition to this, the ideal candidate should possess a client-facing personality, have some experience providing high quality presentation materials and a have an attention to details. The candidate can be a recent graduate or someone with up to three years’ experience.

An exciting opportunity to join one of Mercer’s largest and most rapidly-growing business areas – Investment Solutions. As part of our Sustainable Investment Solutions Team, the successful candidate will assist Mercer’s clients successfully meet their current and future sustainable investment needs and ambitions.

The candidate will work closely with our Sustainable Investment Specialists to implement Mercer’s best thinking on sustainability across four key approaches: Integration, Stewardship, Investments and Exclusions. You will also work closely with the sales and client teams to effectively communicate our sustainable investment activities to key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert on Mercer’s Sustainability Framework and how it relates to the Mercer Funds, across both listed and unlisted asset classes. This is a broad and varied role, which will grow and evolve as the sustainability needs of the business develop further.

We will rely on you to:

  • Champion the team's internal communications across the business, drafting regular updates and communications to the wider business with input from the rest of the team. This includes providing high-quality content on sustainability to support commercial efforts across the business.
  • Support the sales and client teams by being their main point of contact for sustainability-related queries and maintain up to date responses on key topics for RfPs and ad hoc queries.
  • Support the team’s climate and nature specialist on progress towards achieving Mercer’s existing net zero framework and climate-related commitments and take an active role in helping to set other thematic commitments such as those related to nature and biodiversity.
  • Support the team’s investment specialist on integration and implementation issues, such as exclusions framework, fund documentation, regulatory commitments.
  • Provide support to the large client team with bespoke fund sustainability considerations.
  • Take the lead on internal team projects.

What you need to have:

  • A passion for sustainable investment, stewardship and ESG.
  • Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and coherent manner.
  • Attention to detail, project management skills.
  • Ideally some investment analyst, ESG or marketing experience.
  • Willingness to complete a CFA Certificate in ESG or CFA Certificate in Climate and Investing or other sustainability related qualification.
  • Strong PowerPoint and report writing skills.

  • Energy, proactivity and desire to see things done efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative.
  • Broad understanding of regulation and industry best practice in sustainability e.g. TCFD, SFDR.
