Associate Workers Compensation Consultant

What can you expect?

Your role as Associate Workers Compensation Consultant is to provide professional operational support to all Mercer Marsh Benefits colleagues and clients through the administration of injury management software, insurer liaison, back-office injury management accountabilities and supporting the wider team with administrative tasks.

The role is an ideal entry level position in Workers Compensation consulting and injury management profession, with an opportunity for significant on the job development and progression of a career in this space.

You will have significant exposure to a number of large national employers, providing support to both your colleagues and clients;

  • Triaging and lodgement of new claims
  • Inbox management
  • Systems management
  • Document and filing management
  • Record management
  • Data entry

In addition, there will be general administrative tasks including but not limited to;

  • Vendor management – purchase orders, vendor forms, invoicing
  • Project management – project set up/closures, user access, reporting, project tracking and analysis of utilization on the project
  • Allocation of work and projects
  • Expense management including receipts for the team
  • Travel bookings
  • Document preparation and formatting

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Administering preferred injury management software (SolvInjury, Elumina, DoneSafe) for selected clients and maintaining this database
  • Insurer liaison with respect to injury management activities
  • Intermediate Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills;
  • Produce and/or format reports, manuals, presentations and other correspondence or documents;
  • Generate invoices;
  • Organise and maintain file system, file correspondence and other documentation;
  • Maintain database and spreadsheet files;
  • Support Workers Compensation team during busy periods;
  • Read and route incoming correspondence;
  • Take, type and distribute meeting minutes;
  • Assist with workers compensation payroll and wage reimbursements
  • Other tasks as directed by manager.

We would like you to have:

  • High School Certificate or equivalent;
  • Tertiary qualifications in administration or related studies;
  • Undertake Company directed compliance training
  • Experience working in an office type environment and a demonstrated proficiency in the utilisation of Microsoft office-based platforms is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident and considered decision maker
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Computer literate (word and excel)
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Tier 1 compliancy will be required and facilitated by Mercer Marsh Benefits upon commencement
