About the RoleWe are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Procurement Manager with expertise in startup environments, and proficiency in process management. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of vendor operations, including relationships, performance, and strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of negotiation tactics and key contract terms, plus exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
This role can be carried out from our Burlingame, CA headquarters, hybrid, or fully remote/virtually. Remote candidates must be physically located within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Vendor Spend Optimization: Analyze current vendor spend across categories to identify opportunities for consolidation, renegotiation, or reallocation of budget.
- Cost Savings Initiatives: Lead initiatives to deliver measurable savings while maintaining or improving vendor and partner service quality and business outcomes.
- Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key vendors, managing contract negotiations, renewals, performance reviews including SLA compliance, and issue resolution.
- Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring competitive pricing, scalability, and risk mitigation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and other functional leaders to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
- Contract Oversight: Oversee contract lifecycle management, ensuring terms are favorable, compliance is maintained, and documentation is accurate and accessible.
- Market Research & Benchmarking: Stay informed about market trends, pricing benchmarks, and emerging suppliers to inform negotiation strategies and sourcing decisions.
- Process and Tools Innovation: Drive continuous improvement with procurement processes and supporting technology, to further efficiency, cost reduction and maintenance of high quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant Technology sourcing/procurement experience, especially IT software, office hardware and services in a multinational corporation
- Experience in Software Asset Management and optimizations of SaaS applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Netsuite, Coupa, Ironclad, and Zip preferred
