Luminate is a global foundation working to ensure that technology serves our needs and wellbeing. Founded by The Omidyar Group, the organization is focused on supporting a broad movement of advocates, creatives, innovators, and survivors of digital harm to reimagine technology in service of social justice and human rights, with a deep focus on the global majority.

The organization operates across multiple regions including Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Global Ecosystems. Since 2018, Luminate has supported over 500 partners and directed $370 million in funding to the field. Their vision is rooted in restoring the liberating potential of technology so that it serves the public good, planet, and people - particularly those historically marginalised. Working in partnership with organizations worldwide, Luminate brings experience, expertise, and a global network to challenge the concentration of political and economic power over rights, economies, information spheres, and democracies.
