The creative problem solvers in Liberty Mutual’s Insights & Solutions group harness the power of data, analytics and technology to develop innovative solutions that drive our US Retail Markets (USRM) business forward and support a high-performing culture. This group brings together highly talented thinkers and doers ready to challenge the status quo and make an impact. As a member of this cross-functional group, you’ll collaborate with teams across Liberty Mutual to deliver analysis that unlocks insights and sparks new, better ways of working.

The Insights & Solutions team provides critical analysis through five functional groups within USRM:

  • Distribution, Marketing & Experience Insights & Solutions
  • Data Office
  • Claims & Service, Insights & Solutions
  • Knowledge & Development Solutions
  • Data Science

Ensuring that data is a competitive differentiator for our enterprise, the USRM Data Office sets strategic data product visions, governs data for quality and compliance, develops best in class data and reporting solutions, and continuously seeks to optimize the value that data creates for our customers and company. Our team includes data analysts, data stewards, data strategists, and data product owners; performance-driven individuals who make sure that data is appropriately leveraged across every layer of our business.

The Operational Data & Reporting team within USRM's Data Office is seeking a Senior orPrincipal Data Solutions Analyst focusing on delivering best in class data & reporting solutions and insights for a range of stakeholders within our Cross Functional reporting team, supporting Digital reporting.

We may hire this position as a Senior Analyst or Principal Analyst. Your background and qualifications will be evaluated against the skills and experiences required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provides, builds and maintains data solutions to meet the needs of our business partners and ensures these solutions can be scaled appropriately.
  • Independently works on highly complex assignments and prototyping/developing data solutions that meet the needs of the organization and business customers. Coding scalable proof-of-concepts and solutions.
  • Designs proof-of-concept solutions utilizing and advanced understanding of multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met.
  • Acts as a technical leader and mentor for the team, providing assistance & guidance to lower-level team members
  • Design and develops data solutions that enable effective self-service data consumption and can describe their value to the customer.
  • Influences strategic thinking across the team and the broader organization
  • Identifies and utilizes best practices and iterative testing to ensure requirements are met.
  • Prioritizes efforts based on customer value and can set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.
  • Able to lead projects and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Assist in the creation of roadmaps for data solutions and turn vague ideas or problems into a data product.
  • Ensure data solutions include activities and deliverables required to achieve high data quality and displays a strong understanding of complex, multi-tier, multi-platform systems, applying principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance and data security to project work.
  • Create ad-hoc reporting on Adobe analytics
  • Build ETL pipelines using SQL, SAS

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years coding experience specifically with SQL and Python
  • 5+ years application experience with Power BI and SAS
  • 5+ years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in ETL, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell)
  • 5+ years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools

Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell)
