LDSI is seeking an Engineering Manager to fill a critical operational role managing engineers across multiple areas to include our FedRAMP authorized SaaS application, customer environments, and internal. We serve high profile customers including the executive and legislative branches of federal, state, and local government. Leidos DSI delivers industry-leading digital communications and workflow software along with excellent customer support.

In this role, you will be leading a team of experienced engineers and working with service providers to ensure a smooth application experience for end users. You will also work with internal teams to help diagnose issues, and with customers as needed. At its core you will:

  • Lead Engineers: Manage a team of Ops and Systems Engineers focused on the IQ SaaS FedRAMP environment as well as customer environments. Drive strategy and priority to ensure projects and escalation are scheduled with focus on meeting deadlines with resources on hand.
  • Provide Continuous Monitoring: Oversee ongoing configuration management and process maturity to ensure IQ product implementations meet the FedRAMP and FISMA NIST 800-53 requirements for our customers.
  • Lead Vulnerability Management: Handle "Patch & Vulnerability" lifecycle, ensuring environments are hardened (FIPS 140-2/3) and remediated within federal mandates and as determined by Leidos internal policies.
  • Lead Incident Response: Act as an escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents, leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensuring post-mortems lead to hardened systems.
  • Provide Technical Skills: Understand technologies used such as Cert management, Windows, Logging, Elastic, SMTP/email, Crypto algos, etc. Provide problem solving skills and hands on experience in technologies used and bring automation and architecture design skills as well.
  • Prioritize Projects: Must be able to maintain focus and clarify priorities in the face of competing priorities

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge and experience to include:

  • Team Lead / Management skills – we are looking for a servant leader who can clear the path for employees to perform with excellence
  • Strong problem solving/trouble-shooting skills
  • Adaptability and technical curiosity -- must be willing to dig in to foster success at the pace of technical change.
  • Strong customer service/team communication skills, you will be interacting with internal, service provider and customer teams including project managers, agency security teams, end users and government stakeholders.
  • Technical writing skills, a knack for distilling technical complexity so it is understandable
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management and change management best practices
  • Understanding of security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53/FISMA/FedRAMP)
  • Software Deployment/System Implementation experience
  • Willingness/flexibility to perform weekend and after-hours work
  • Familiarity with web-based applications, VMWare, Windows Server support/maintenance, Group Policy,Active Directory expertise, emails and DNS Management
  • Focus on efficient and compliant processes and 360 communications of issues and resolutions with appropriate record keeping and reporting.

Other Desired Skills:

  • SMTP Mail servers, protocols, reputation management and standards
  • Oracle Database Administration
  • Enterprise/Cloud Anti-virus solutions
  • SIEM solutions for Cloud environments
  • AWS experience/knowledge, especially SysOps or Architect domains

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

Leidos' story begins in 1969 when Dr. J. Robert Beyster, a visionary scientist, founded Science Applications Incorporated (SAI) in La Jolla, San Diego, California.
