Role Title: Product Designer

Reports to:Head of Product Designer

UK Remote based - with occasional travel to London

Kooth is a fast growing business with a social purpose. Listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE:KOO), our mission is to provide welcoming and effective digital mental health support to the nation.

Working in partnership with the NHS, we are already the UK’s largest digital mental health platform for young people aged 10-25. We are now rapidly expanding into supporting the NHS adult population, providing corporate solutions to help build mentally healthy businesses, and expanding internationally.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and multi-skilled product designer with a solid understanding of user experience, visual design, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

  • responsible for creating engaging user experiences that meet the product requirements whilst championing the voice of our service users.
  • Creating visually appealing, user-friendly and accessible interfaces. lf.
  • You will have a general understanding or interest in who our users are, their needs, and how to deliver experiences that are appropriate for the mental wellbeing space. You are curious about the real world contexts in which our service is used, and will strive to improve the lives of our users alongside the rest of the business.
  • Conduct user research and user testing to understand user needs and pain points, and use these insights to inform the design process
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and solutions
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure design solutions align with product goals and technical feasibility
  • Contribute to and help develop the Kooth design systems and its guidelines
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure design solutions are implemented correctly
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends and best practices, and proactively apply this knowledge to improve our product

Requirements

  • Passionate about mental health and wellbeing
  • You approach work from a growth mindset - wanting to learn and develop
  • Able to act with autonomy and self direction
  • Some understanding of web accessibility and willingness to develop this knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communicator, with experience leading workshops and collaborating across functions
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design process, problem-solving skills, and user-centred design solutions
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD etc
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies and experience working in an agile environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product design
