Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Legal/Product Counsel to join our team at k-ID. As a Legal/Product Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with UK laws and regulations. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements, conducting legal research, and helping us navigate legal complexities and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong legal background and experience in the technology industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to our product and engineering teams, ensuring compliance with UK laws and regulations.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements, including privacy policies, terms of service, and intellectual property licenses.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various topics affecting the company's products and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant UK laws and regulations, and communicate any changes or updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to legal and compliance matters.
- Assist in managing legal disputes and investigations, as necessary.
Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited UK university and admission to practice law in the UK or in a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the technology industry.
- 2+ PQE with top tier international law firm experience or Tier-1 tech company.
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Strong knowledge of UK laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical and strategic legal advice.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Knowledge of intellectual property laws and licensing agreements is a plus.
