Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Director, Proposal Manager is the management of competitive proposals for prospective clients. This position requires a commanding knowledge of the healthcare/pharma industry and exceptional writing skills combined with the ability to multi-task on multiple pursuits. Furthermore, the candidate should have exceptional project management skills, a keen attention to detail, a commitment to producing high quality deliverables, and the ability to handle multiple projects independently.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Lead kick-off meetings with sales teams to establish understanding of RFP requirements, contents and proposal schedule.
- Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
- Coordinate requirements and response with key contributors and subject matter experts, setting up meetings where appropriate and assigning accountability and ownership.
- Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and updating boilerplate with latest solutions and responses.
- Respond to, manage, and format security and technical questionnaires, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company standards
- Turn complex information into easy-to-understand, persuasive, and on-brand responses
- Manage Statements of Work (SOWs) from initial creation in collaboration with Sales, through internal review and approval processes, to final submission and secure storage of the executed contract.
Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree programs in technical communication, journalism, communications, English or a related field are desired. A background in computer pharma IT / healthcare IT is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in proposal management, preferably in healthcare or pharma.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Platform, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and RFP/RFI portals.
- Demonstrates expert-level PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create and edit slides for RFPs and executive presentations
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering high-impact proposals on tight deadlines.
- Self-starter with a proven track record of flawless project management.
