IT Intern

Job Summary

We are seeking an intern to assist us in Jira Administrator functions. This role involves managing, configuring, and administering our Cloud Jira instance to optimize our project management and collaboration processes. The ideal candidate should have the aptitude in application software although no experience is required.

Responsibilities

System Administration & Configuration:

• Manage, configure, and support Jira Software.
• Tailor Jira workflows, screens, fields, and permissions to align with business processes.
• Develop and maintain automation rules using Jira automation features.
• Integrate Jira with other tools (e.g., Zephyr, Easy Vista, external databases).

Workflow Design & Customization:

• Create and optimize Jira workflows for complex, high-impact projects.
• Define conditions, validators, and post-functions for workflow transitions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflows and configurations.

Application Support:

• Provide support and training to users on Jira best practices.
• Assist in evaluating and testing Jira plug-ins, managing licensing, and configuring new features.

Project Management & Documentation:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide Jira solutions that meet project needs.
• Document all customizations and configurations for future reference and troubleshooting.
• Create training materials and conduct Jira demonstrations for project teams

Internship Terms:

• Duration: 3 months
• Rate: $18 hourly rate

• Currently attending a community college or university having attained at least sophomore status, currently enrolled as an information technology or computer science major
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality in virtually all aspects of work
• Possess clear, concise oral and written communication skills
• Strong initiative and solid judgment skills
• Self-motivated, driven student must have advanced exploration skills and a strong desire to learn new systems and work within a team environment
• Ability to work independently and a self-starter who is not afraid to ask questions
• SQL is a plus or understand how it works
• Willingness to learn about automation rules and workflow customization
