Engineering Project Manager

The Role:

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing small to medium size projects under limited direction that involves a small number of team members (ex: 10 or less). This position leads sub-teams for larger projects/programs which impacts multiple functions in assigned division.

What you’ll do:

• Manages, plans, and coordinates activities and teams for engineering projects.
• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
• Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• May manage sub-contractors and their workforce.
• Directs and coordinates activities of cross functional project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modified schedules or plans as required.
• Prepares project reports and reviews for management, teams, or others.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• May manage Project Supervisors/leaders assigned to specific projects.

Who you are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
• At least 2 years engineering project management experience
• At least 5 years engineering experience in a project setting in if no direct engineering project management experience
• Demonstrated Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) knowledge and experience
• Ability to travel to meet project and department needs (Average of 1 week every 4-6 weeks)

It would be great if you also have:

• PMP Certification
• 5+ years engineering project management experience
• Six Sigma Experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and be driven by group feedback
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet given deadlines
• Close attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture
• High sense of personal accountability and self-motivation

Compensation:

The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $84,345.50 to $114,114.50, though a candidate’s base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position is also eligible for commission payments.
