VP of Engineering, Operations Hub

Collaborating with Product Management and UX, Engineering builds positively impactful products for hundreds of thousands of users at more than 215,000 growing companies in over 120 countries. Our platform engineering team has scaled rapidly over the past few years, and we’re looking for an empathetic, adaptable, and innovative Engineering Leader to scale the Operations Hub.

Ops Hub is one of HubSpot’s latest & fastest growing multi-million dollar products. The Ops Hub team aims to help our customers get more out of HubSpot, by syncing data in and out of their CRM, reporting on their data to gain insights about how their business is running, and automating their business processes to make sure things are running smoothly…even when they’re not at their desk!

The VP of Engineering, Ops Hub will be a key member of our technical leadership team, and will partner closely with product engineering and infrastructure engineering leaders to help build and scale the platform that supercharges data, automation, and sync across the entire HubSpot CRM ecosystem.

What you’ll do:

• Steer our fastest-growing product, Ops Hub, to new heights by enabling front-office teams to confidently integrate, enrich, and manage all of their own customer data through AI-powered tools & insights
• Lead over 200 talented engineers and partner alongside our Product Eng/Infra Eng, Product Management, and UX teams across the organization to build compelling software that’s both powerful and easy to use
• Dive into the minds of our customers to improve their experience
• Collaborate with other engineering hub leaders on all matters that impact the technical team, including resourcing and building broader technical vision
• Coach, empower, hire, and retain talent by fostering an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity
• Set objectives for teams that help align technical product development with key business goals

What We're Looking For:

• A fly-high, fly-low 0-1 software/platform engineering leader at a VP/GM capacity who can work alongside their team, not through them
• Check out how we onboard engineering leaders to build empathy with their engineering team and product alike.
• Domain knowledge of Big Data Processing & Distribution (Data Ingestion, Data Warehousing, Data Orchestration), Extract, Transform & Load (ETL), Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Integrated Platform as a Service (iPaaS), or CRM/SaaS space
• Working knowledge of our modern tech stack & competencies: Jira, Kubernetes, Snowflake, Java, SQL, MapReduce, Hadoop, Information Retrieval, Distributed Systems, Data Mining, Signal Processing, and/or Machine Learning
• Tested ability in effectively communicating, documenting, influencing, and aligning business leaders and executive levels
• Strategic & technical visionary who can set strategic direction and manifesting it by establishing clear priorities and relevant goals
• An obsession for user empathy and enhancing user experience
• Inclusive leader who can foster a sense of team camaraderie and mission
• Cross-functional stakeholder partner keen on developing strong working relationships across the organization - from the tech leads and the individual contributors who report to them, to the product managers and designers their reports co-create with, to their peers & the executive team
