Hire Heroes USA

The story of Hire Heroes USA began in 2005 with a chance encounter that would change the landscape of veteran employment forever. John Bardis, then-CEO of MedAssets, met a severely injured Army sergeant who had returned from Afghanistan facing an uncertain future. Despite his service and sacrifice, this soldier—like so many others—struggled to see how his military skills would translate to the civilian workforce. Moved by this soldier's plight and the broader challenge facing thousands of returning service members, Bardis founded Hire Heroes USA with a singular mission: to empower U.S. military members, veterans, and military spouses to succeed in the civilian workforce.

What started as a small initiative has evolved into the nation's most effective veteran employment non-profit. Over the years, Hire Heroes USA has grown from a localized effort into a national powerhouse, utilizing a high-touch, personalized approach to career coaching. By pairing veterans one-on-one with Transition Specialists, the organization bridges the gap between military service and civilian careers. Today, Hire Heroes USA has confirmed more than 110,000 hires and continues to expand its reach, offering virtual career fairs, mentorship programs, and a robust job board, ensuring that those who served their country are never left behind in their pursuit of the American Dream.
