1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don't accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway’s mission is to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. We started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. The admin work - credentialing, claims, payment reconciliation - is a nightmare. We've automated that.

But we're going further. Over 70,000 providers across all 50 states run their practice on our software, serving over 1 million patients. We are building the best tools for therapists to run their entire practice, reimagining the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in the platform foundations to enable this at scale. We aren't just a billing layer; we are becoming the platform where care actually happens.

You Will

  • Own Headway's SEM program end-to-end: campaign architecture, keyword strategy, bidding, budget allocation, and performance optimization across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.
  • Scale SEM spend efficiently: grow budgets toward $50M+ annually while maintaining target CAC and ROAS.
  • Build incrementality measurement: design and run geo-lift studies, holdout tests, and brand/non-brand incrementality analysis.
  • Optimize the full funnel: partner with Product and Engineering to improve post-click conversion from landing page through booked appointment.
  • Partner directly with Engineering and Data Science: own tracking implementation, attribution infrastructure, and performance reporting.
  • Leverage AI tools: Build and run AI agents in Claude Code that automate keyword expansion, ad copy generation, bid optimization signals, and competitive intelligence.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of SEM experience with deep hands-on expertise in Google Ads at scale.
  • You have managed annual SEM budgets of $50M+. You know what it takes to scale spend while maintaining efficiency.
  • You are a technical marketer. You work directly with Engineering and Data Science teams. You can write SQL and build dashboards.
  • You measure what matters: incrementality testing, geo-lift studies, or MMM. You optimize for booked appointments, not vanity metrics.
  • You own the full funnel: post-click optimization and conversion rate improvement with Product and Engineering.
  • You actively manage AI agents as part of how you operate. Orchestrating AI is already part of your workflow.
  • You want to own something. This is a single-IC role with a wide scope and real autonomy.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base pay range for this position is $152,000 - $190,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.
