This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Cybersecurity Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior IT Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for leading and implementing cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our organization's systems and data. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity, hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and industry standards. This candidate should be comfortable communicating with all areas of the business and leadership and be able to work in a cross functional organizational structure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint security, EDR, SIEM, Secure SDLC, and data encryption technologies.
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and coordinate the remediation of security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the development lifecycle of software applications and IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor security events and incidents, investigate security breaches, and provide incident response and remediation support as necessary.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, and proactively recommend security enhancements and controls.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required

Education Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, GIAC Cybersecurity certs, Cloud Security certs, CISSP) is a plus.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (within 12 months of employment)

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of security engineering experience.
  • Subject matter expert across multiple cyber security domains to support a matrixed team environment.

Preferred

  • Strong technical proficiency in cybersecurity technologies and tools, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, encryption, and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Hands-on experience with network security, cloud security, identity and access management (IAM), and incident response.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Red/Blue/Purple teaming experience in concert with our operations organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
