We are Harland & Wolff, a name synonymous with shipbuilding excellence and maritime engineering for over 160 years. Founded in 1861 by Sir Edward James Harland and Gustav Wilhelm Wolff, our legacy is deeply rooted in the history of Belfast and the annals of global maritime achievement. We're incredibly proud of our heritage, which includes the construction of some of the world's most iconic vessels, such as the RMS Titanic, RMS Olympic, and HMHS Britannic for the White Star Line, as well as other significant ships like the SS Canberra for P&O and the UK's first supertanker, the Myrina. Our historic Belfast shipyard, with its famous Samson and Goliath cranes, remains a symbol of industrial prowess and innovation, featuring one of Europe's largest drydocks and extensive fabrication facilities.

Today, we've evolved into a dynamic multisite fabrication company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navantia UK since January 2025. This new chapter strengthens our capabilities and secures our future as a key player in the UK's strategic industrial base. Our operations span four key sites across the United Kingdom: our historic Belfast yard in Northern Ireland, Appledore in Devon, and two Scottish yards in Methil and Arnish. This strategic footprint allows us to serve five core markets: Defence, Cruise & Ferry, Commercial Maritime, Renewables, and Energy. We offer a comprehensive suite of services, including technical services, newbuild fabrication and construction, repair and maintenance, in-service support, conversion, and decommissioning.
