Position Summary

The Treasury Specialist I – Construction accounting plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the company’s Treasury functions. The role is primarily responsible, under moderate supervision, preparing reporting, submitting wire transfer requests, and funding Encompass loans. The role is responsible for various bank activity and accounting reconciliations.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare initial close workbooks and imports for loans funding through Encompass (Construction products)
  • Fund loans through warehouse line and update Encompass accordingly
  • Communicate with Construction group along with other departments on ad hoc requests (payoffs, TCB draws, modifications)
  • Prepare margin call reports for quarterly NMLS reporting
  • Prepare monthly borrower billing statements for Construction and Builder loans
  • Reconcile Reverse product loan advances (1532, 1533)
  • Prepare Reverse product loan entries- including Reverse securitization journal entries
  • Review batch processed wire activity for accuracy and verify amounts are properly recorded and reconciled.
  • Reconcile accounts and verify entries are clearing in a timely manner and according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform multiple account reconciliations as well as daily bank reconciliations (2129, 2390, 1130, etc)
  • Perform and thoroughly research monthly reconciliations (2194, 1395, 1391)
  • Prepare and post journal entries to General Ledger (via LoanVision).
  • Process Corporate check deposits and record accordingly.
  • Work to increase team efficiency by providing recommendations for process improvement.
  • Cross-train in other Treasury functions; act as a back-up when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (to include short and term projects), as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma a must, Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1+ years accounting/finance related of related work experience.
  • Mortgage banking experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits, reconciliations, balance sheets and income statements.
  • General understanding of overall mortgage process rules and regulations, policies and ethical standards pertaining to wire transfers.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required.
  • Ability to analyze situations and choose appropriate course of action to resolve issues.
  • Highly proficient with data entry, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate excel user minimum. (Knows how to create formulas and vlookups)
  • 10-key by touch preferred.
  • Prior experience using document retention software; AIQ preferred.

Supervision

  • Moderate to intermittent supervision required, depending on experience
  • Moderate independent judgment and discretion used in the execution of core job responsibilities
  • Travel: 0%

  • Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
  • Environmental: Office environment – no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Targeted Salary Range: $20.27/hr to $26.83/hr

Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
