Grid's journey began as a response to a direct and personal challenge: the founders' own consumer business fell victim to the increasingly sophisticated tactics of online fraud. This firsthand experience with the vulnerabilities and financial losses associated with identity-related issues became the catalyst for creating a new kind of defense. Christian-Robert Joseph, Carl-Alain Memnon, and Patrick De Suza, the co-founders, recognized that traditional, fragmented verification methods were no longer sufficient to combat the evolving threats in the digital landscape. They envisioned a solution that was more than just a tool; they aimed to build a fortress.

Driven by this mission, they set out to develop a platform that would empower financial firms and startups to navigate the complex demands of customer verification with confidence. The core idea was to create a modern verification platform that integrates multiple top-tier data providers into a single, seamless system. This approach was born from the realization that to effectively combat fraud, businesses needed a unified view and the agility to adapt quickly – something their own experiences had shown was lacking. They meticulously researched what financial startups genuinely used and needed in their tech stacks, establishing crucial partnerships and developing code that could communicate with the most critical APIs in the industry. The result was Grid, a Verification-as-a-Service (VAAS) product designed for rapid deployment and ease of use, offering a code-free orchestration tool that allows businesses to customize their verification workflows. Grid's philosophy centers on empowering its customers, giving them the control and solutions needed to stay ahead of fraudsters, so they can focus on their primary goal: growing their business.
