The Security Development team at Genesys is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help drive security, compliance, and automation across our global cloud platform. In this role, you will work with a highly collaborative team of engineers to design, build, and evolve secure services and tooling that support applications running at massive scale.As a senior contributor, you will also play a key role in mentoring engineers, shaping best practices, and influencing architectural direction across multiple services and microservices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test cloud services and tooling that meet stringent security and compliance requirements.

• Implement secure coding and architectural best practices across microservices and cloud workloads.

• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers within the team.

• Develop automation scripts to support operational efficiencies and security workflows.

• Integrate internal and external systems using RESTful APIs and modern integration patterns.

• Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines and ensure high-confidence automated releases.

• Create comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure quality and reliability.

• Engineer services to be resilient, observable, self-healing, and able to operate at global scale.

• Participate in peer design and code reviews, contributing to continuous improvement.

• Ensure compliance with GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, and other relevant security and privacy standards.

• Uphold the Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong hands-on understanding of AWS cloud services, architectures, and best practices.

• Hands on experience working with python

• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and web services.

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing microservices using AWS services.

• Ability to design JSON/YAML-based schemas for cross-team consumption.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Passionate about security, hacking, and safeguarding cloud systems.

• Continuously experimenting with new technologies, frameworks, languages, and able to produce meaningful proofs of concept.

• Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals and an instinct for scalable, future-ready architectures.

• Deep appreciation for secure coding, quality engineering, and performance metrics.

• Highly detail-oriented, systematic, and driven by craftsmanship.

• Comfortable bringing your own creativity, curiosity, and perspective to the team.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience solving performance, scalability, and reliability challenges in multi-region global cloud environments.

• Ability to design well-structured REST-based APIs.

• Background working with AWS Cloud services and be comfortable with large-scale data processing.

• Hands-on experience with automated deployment and testing workflows in CI/CD pipelines.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
