As a Concept Artist within our Art team, you’ll play a fundamental role in shaping the worlds of FuturLab games. You’ll breathe life into abstract concepts, exploring and refining the visual style of characters, environments and props. You’ll be passionate about creating beautiful concept art that can tell a story and effectively communicate tone.
As a remote-friendly studio, we are pleased to offer remote working wherever possible. This role can be fully remote, based out of our sunny seaside office in Brighton or a mixture of both!

As a Concept Artist at FuturLab, you’ll be:
- Working with the Art Director and Lead Artist to develop concepts that define the look and feel of our games
- Exploring ideas quickly using sketches and thumbnails
- Creating of Key frame concepts as well as production design and breakout sketches
- Collaborating with other concept artists to develop and push each other’s ideas
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ professional experience as a concept artist.
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellent high quality 2D concept artwork, preferably including Environments, Vehicles, props and characters.
- A wide artistic range and be able to produce work in a multitude of styles.
- Good understanding of traditional art fundamentals such as lighting, colour, shape, and image composition.
- Positive attitude and passion for creating art.
- A strong sense and understanding of design.
Desirable
- Experience using 3D software, particularly Blender
- Character design experience
- Basic animation experience
- Graphic design experience
