The B2B demand gen team is responsible for the implementation of the overall B2B digital sales enablement strategy. Working cross-functionally with sales, product, and editorial teams, the demand gen team creates, disseminates, and reports on revenue-driving activities across owned, earned, and paid channels.
This role will report to the Associate Director of Marketing while working closely with the Group Publisher in charge of the Education, Workforce/Business Services/HR, Tech & Learning, MRTT, and AVTech teams. The position will be managed by a combination of metric and objective-based goals that support the overall strategy of the B2B unit.
What you'll be doing…
- Team Leadership
- With the Associate Director of Marketing, create an annual demand generation strategy that provides quarterly activities and intended outcomes
- With the Associate Director of Marketing and the Head of Marketing, develop metrics for which demand generation marketing will be held accountable and ensure that activities performed by the demand generation team align to those goals
- With the Associate Director of Marketing, building and maintaining a lead/customer journey and lead scoring system
- Demand Generation
- Creation, project management and distribution of original content within the Education, Workforce/Business Services/HR, Tech & Learning, MRTT, and AVTech spaces (note: this should be a temporary scenario since it needs to rebalance across the team)
- Provide guidance and advice, based on data, to sales teams around demand generation marketing activities that will yield the greatest results
- Create, execute, and follow up on B2B marketing automation, digital advertising, and related programs that are built on specific, data-driven goals and which generate actionable leads, nurture existing leads and contacts for sales, and influence revenue
- Creation and adoption of demand gen and lead management best practices, standard operating procedures and KPIs
- Distributing data and upholding sales to SOPs and SLAs for data cleanliness and management
- Improvement of Sales Positioning
- Creation of a quarterly analytics report for each industry
- Internal data research via the marketing automation platform, CRM and other tools in the tech stack to report of the efficacy and success of each marketing program
- Creation and distribution of Industry Media Kits, including quarterly updates as applicable
- Regular meetings with the publisher(s) and sales teams, including the creation and maintenance of industry-specific buyer personas, as well as sitting in on multiple sales calls per quarter
- Brand Awareness and Engagement
- Maintain and enhance corporate image and reputation, specifically for the Education, Workforce/Business Services/HR, Tech & Learning, MRTT, and AVTech verticals via suitable PR and promotional activities
- Maintain and develop existing and new partners through marketing efforts including event media partnerships (barters)
- Attend key industry events throughout the year, including at least one B2B marketing professional development, either in-person or virtually
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…
- Experience with demand and lead generation fundamentals, including lead scoring and buyer personas
- High level of creativity, an eagerness to try new things and a strong desire to learn and collaborate with other marketing managers and members of the sales team
- A track record of building, executing, and reporting on digital marketing campaigns
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools, with Marketo experience as a significant plus
- Experience using Salesforce
- Proficiency in marketing data analytics including first-touch and multi-touch attribution models
