The Energy Efficiency Regulatory Consultant supports and leads technical analysis and regulatory reporting for energy efficiency and distributed energy resource initiatives. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, experience working with complex datasets, and familiarity with regulatory environments. The Energy Efficiency Regulatory Consultant will serve as a technical resource on energy savings methodologies, cost-effectiveness analysis, and reporting requirements, while partnering with internal teams and clients to deliver accurate, compliant, and high-quality outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and support energy savings calculations and cost-effectiveness analyses
- Analyze large datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with reporting requirements
- Prepare and review technical reports, summaries, and regulatory documentation
- Maintain and improve analytical tools, models, and documentation
- Conduct quality control on program performance data, including forecasts, actuals, and cost metrics
- Interpret regulatory guidance and apply it to program strategy and reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and partners to collect data and deliver results
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, environmental science, data science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4–8 years of experience in analytics, technical consulting, or regulated environments
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with energy efficiency or regulated industries
- Familiarity with cost-effectiveness analysis and energy savings methodologies
- Experience with data tools such as Salesforce, R, or Python
- Background in developing analytical tools, dashboards, or reporting frameworks
