For this position, we’re specifically seeking a Federal AV Design Engineer with an active security clearance. The ideal candidate is someone with experience designing complex Audio-Visual Systems for the Federal Government as well as those serving the Federal Government including contractors and prime contract holders.

Types of Experience to Assure Success:
• Experience working with Federal Government clients
• Experience working with Federal Government Prime Contract holders (those responsible for contract vehicles)
• Experience working with Federal Contractors (those who provide products and services to Federal Government)
• Experience working with Federal National Laboratories (those leading scientific research and development)
• Experience working with multi-class networks and their cyber security
• Experience working with FedRAMP and/or M365 Government Impact Levels

Beneficial Attributes:
• Understanding of AV over IP workflows including IP networking concepts
• CompTIA, CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Modern Work or related Role-Based Certification, or other related industry IT certifications
• CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, AVAQ CQD, RCDD, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure, or other related AV industry certifications
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, electronics, audiovisual, or related field
• Knowledgeable in Solutions 360 (Q360) and ServiceNow

Willingness to:
• Work on projects outside the government vertical when necessary
• Work with State and Local Government clients when needed
• Wear multiple hats at times when sales, project, or field engineering is needed to include service work
• Travel for site surveys and/or to assist branches or partners with system commissioning

Valuable Skills:
• Written and oral communication skills including the ability to lead conversations productively to intended outcomes
• Aptitude for continual learning and acquisition of industry certifications
• Ability to perform mathematical formulas related to geometry, algebra, and trigonometry
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot technical environments
• Ability to support team members with their needs and goals while continuing to work through assigned tasks
• Ability to lead in demanding and dynamic situations amongst multiple personas including upper echelons

Role and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with manufacturers to understand the services they provide as well as the technical capabilities of products they offer
• Provide technical expertise to support the architectural development, design, and installation of IT, audiovisual, and control solutions
• Prepare signal flows, elevations, functional system descriptions, and operational user manuals
• Develop architectural, construction, and electrical drawings related to the environment and system that follow Technical Service Standards
• Develop designs within software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Visio
• Conduct equipment research to compile equipment lists, custom product designs and system integrations that meet customer specific needs
• Conduct proofs of concept and pilots to validate use cases and workflows as well as demonstrate solution capabilities
• Provide rough orders of magnitude pricing, executive overviews, and development reports to move the sales and consulting process into design
• Formulating financial forecasts to project and estimate the labor hours, expenses, and overall costs to implement projects profitably
• Build bills of material, scopes of work, and quotes for Retail Sales Agreement Proposals for clients
• Support internal teams, clients, and all other opportunity and project stakeholders throughout development, design, integration, and service life cycles

Requirements to Assure Success:
• Current Active Federal Security Clearance
• 5+ years of Design Engineering experience
• Deep understanding of audiovisual, control, and DSP systems
• Prior experience in service and installation of audiovisual and presentation systems
• Ability to communicate technical details to multiple stakeholders and personalities
• Ability to travel up to 25%
