Senior Engineering Manager - Card Processing

About The Role:

At Enfuce, we enable modern card issuing and payment processing for some of Europe’s most innovative fintechs.

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead two high-performing teams responsible for Card Processing, the most critical part of our core platform that ensures millions of transactions are processed securely and reliably every day.

You’ll lead and shape how we scale our systems, strengthen reliability, and grow the technical and human capabilities of your teams. This is a key leadership role at the heart of Enfuce’s mission to deliver trusted, world-class financial infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead two engineering teams (13–15 people in total) composed of backend engineers and subject matter experts, with the opportunity to expand your leadership scope to four teams and manage managers within 12-24 months.
• Develop and coach engineers, helping them grow their skills, autonomy, and impact.
• Drive execution across your teams, ensuring reliable delivery, maintaining high quality, and balancing innovation with operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and other Engineering leaders to align priorities and deliver business impact.
• Influence technical direction, participating in architecture discussions and ensuring systems are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Champion engineering excellence by promoting observability, automation, and strong DevOps practices, fostering a healthy, high-performing culture built on trust, clarity, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience leading and managing high performing Backend Engineers.
• Experience leading multiple teams.
• Proven track record of building and running reliable backend systems, ideally in Java (Spring Boot) on AWS. (coding is not required)
• You can dive into architecture discussions and understand trade-offs.
• Experience managing systems with strict SLAs, observability, and traceability.
• Excellent communication in English, with the ability to align teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Curiosity and a growth mindset, especially towards the card issuing and payments domain.
