Neuroscience Account Manager

Assigned Territory: Puglia; Molise; Abruzzo

As part of this vision, we are seeking a Neuroscience Account Manager (NAM) to lead territory sales performance and deliver exceptional customer experience. In this role, the candidate will combine strong analytical and influencing sills to ensure the successful implementation of corporate strategies in their assigned territory, achievement of sales objectives, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will collaborate with a highly skilled and integrated team comprising marketing, Alzheimer’s ecosystem managers, market access, corporate affairs, and medical professionals. The experience required will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy at both local and national levels.

The NAM will be responsible for understanding the Italian healthcare ecosystem, patient flow, and key decision makers, effectively launching and managing the business for Lilly’s Neuroscience team, focusing on approved assets within Alzheimer’s disease.

The NAM will lead local account planning across priority hospital accounts and regional healthcare structures, leveraging account and customer insights to develop and execute local strategies aligned with overall brand objectives.

At launch, and once all necessary training and compliance requirements have been met, the NAM will identify key Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in target accounts, gain access and endorsement, and promote Lilly’s Neuroscience offering across the territory.

Close collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Ecosystem Manager (AEM) will be essential to map account readiness and define localized action plans to maximize opportunities in accounts that are ready or develop plans for those requiring further readiness.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, prepare, and implement a territory business plan from launch, based on a clear understanding of local healthcare priorities and regional dynamics.
  • Lead the development of a cross-functional business plan, working with the Team Leader Sales Manager, AEM, MSL and RAM colleagues.
  • Support diagnostics and treatment ecosystem mapping and actively contribute to shaping diagnostic and therapeutic pathways (PDTA) in partnership with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Compliantly achieve or exceed sales and new patient start targets through focused customer interactions, including face-to-face calls, meetings, and digital engagement.
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise and product knowledge in the therapeutic area and relevant competitor products.
  • Understand brand HCP value propositions and Lilly resources, confidently positioning them with key customers and tailoring the value proposition to HCP needs.
  • Use business information to identify variances in local account performance and collaborate on tactical plans to maximize results.
  • Identify opportunities to involve other functions (marketing, medical, RWE, corporate affairs) to drive additional value.
  • Support HCPs in developing capabilities aligned with Lilly’s strategy for building lasting customer relationships.
  • Build relationships with key thought leaders and advocates within local territories.
  • Always demonstrate high integrity and compliance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Scientific Master Degree in: Biology; CTF; Pharmacy; Informazione Scientifica del Farmaco;
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Winning mindset and desire to excel in a highly challenging environment.
  • Proven ability to identify and convert business opportunities into growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong business acumen supported by analytical and planning capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of the Italian healthcare system, including SSN funding and regional budget structures.
  • Confidence in using alternative communication channels and virtual engagement to enhance customer experience.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and manage diverse local stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing regional and national thought leaders.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in value-based selling, key account management, and business planning.
  • Proven ability to execute peer-to-peer programs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing strategic priorities.
  • Strong evidence of personal accountability and resilience.
  • Ability to manage a broad portfolio across multiple disease indications.
  • Valid Italian driving license.

  • Neuroscience Experience: Neurodegenerative diseases, Alzheimer’s disease
