Discovery Education is looking for a Manager of Teaching & Learning to join our K12 team. A Discovery Education Manager of Teaching & Learning serves as a subject matter expert and a professional presenter supporting field-based Partnership Managers in a variety of roles, including but not limited to, delivering high-quality, compelling sales presentations, conducting pilots, representing Discovery Education’s full suite of services at Publisher fairs and events, workshops etc. The overall goal is to drive sales of Discovery Education’s Platform and full suite of services.
This role can sit in our Charlotte HQs or remote.
About the Role
- Deliver compelling, competitive, and informative presentations to Discovery Education choosers and users including district selection committees, administrators and others who influence buying decisions.
- Conduct presentations, workshops, conference sessions, sales/thought leadership events, exhibits, publisher fairs, etc.
- Facilitate and deliver high quality individual and small group customer meetings demonstrating a strong understanding of Discovery’s programs and their place in the competitive landscape.
- Develop customized, dynamic presentations that best position Discovery in the market for success as a digital leader in both the adoption and open state spaces.
- Attend partnership meetings to understand market drivers and district goals and communicate Discovery Education’s capacity to support strategic priorities.
- Complete responses to committee rubrics and Q&A from districts, ensuring that Discovery Education’s products are positioned for success and well represented in the competitive landscape.
- Create national and regional sales support products including videos, product documents, and marketing type resources.
- Support the sales team through supportive enablement and strategy.
- Work collaboratively across the organization to support product, marketing, and GTM efforts as a representative from Teaching and Learning.
- Support other key projects needed to generate revenue and support campaign efforts.
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide responses to district inquiries and calls for specific requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and above or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
- Expertise and experience in applying deep product mastery to presenting and delivering sales presentations and support presentations both in person and virtually.
- Experience working in a sales environment and demonstrated deep understanding of role in supporting a sales team and building partner relationships.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills essential.
- Position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to react quickly to changing needs.
- Proficiency with programs such as Microsoft, Google Suite, Zoom (and similar virtual presentation systems), and other related products/systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team and cross-functional teams.
- Strong sense of personal initiative & urgency to accomplish tasks.
- Expertise in industry trends and research.
- Must live in the Southwest Region of the U.S.
- Travel up to 80% required.
- Always willing to learn something new, not rigid in beliefs or expectations.
