As our Product Manager, APIs & Data Products, you will be part of our Central Product Organisation.
The Central Product Organisation will partner all areas of Digital Science and add value through defining, developing, and enhancing our core product offerings and driving alignment across product development, contributing to the strategic growth plans of the business.
In your role as Product Manager, APIs & Data Products, you will define and champion the product vision for our API and data products, lead the go-to-market strategy for these offerings, and collaborate with engineering and data science teams to develop and optimize user-friendly APIs and data models within Google BigQuery, ensuring data quality and performance, and exploring future innovations in data delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Product Manager, APIs & Data Products, you will be a pivotal part of the Central Product Organisation, directly contributing to our strategic growth plans by shaping our data offerings.
- You will be defining and championing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our API and Dimensions on Google BigQuery data products, with a keen focus on our Enterprise customers.
- Working with engineering, data science, and architecture teams, you will guide the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring technical feasibility and scalability of our solutions.
- Develop and execute compelling go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, messaging, and competitive analysis, to drive market leadership and adoption for our API and Google BigQuery offerings.
- Manage the design of robust, user-friendly, and well-documented APIs, ensuring consistency and harmonization of data models across our growing suite of products for a unified user experience.
- Provide clear technical specifications and gather detailed product requirements, translating complex technical capabilities into compelling product features.
- Liaise with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to create compelling product messaging and enablement materials.
- Support the ongoing monitoring and improvement of data quality and performance across all our data delivery channels, and explore new data warehouse technologies and AI developments (like Model Context Protocol) to future-proof our products.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- You will be able to demonstrate proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably within a B2B SaaS or data products environment.
- You will have a sound knowledge of RESTful API design principles, best practices, and lifecycle management.
- An experienced user of Google BigQuery, with hands-on experience in schema design, query optimization, data loading, and security.
- An understanding and experience of data modeling techniques, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
- You will be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, data science, sales, marketing).
- You have a strong analytical skillset, capable of translating data into actionable product insights and defining/tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
