This is a retail expert role focusing on pre-sales activities mainly for our Retail Technolgy Solutions portfolio, partnering with sales colleagues in the development and closing of sales opportunities. You will serve as technical subject matter expert and consult the sales team and client on DN Retail solutions and service offerings.

Some of the key areas you will be responsible for include assisting in the sales cycle from discovery to close, designing customer solutions that achieve business and financial goals as well as meeting or exceed client business and functional requirements. Documenting detailed client requirements and initiates any required scoping efforts or planning with internal partners to ensure successful solution delivery. Evaluating product performance, market needs and client satisfaction, providing feedback to product teams to ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of the company's solutions portfolio.

Conducting live and remote demonstrations and making presentations to prospective customers clearly articulating the value proposition is expected.

This is a remote role, where you will be working across all customers closely with sales teams, focusing accounts in the UK& Ireland and Globally, in cooperation with the product management team in Germany.

  • Provides the full range of Pre-Sales Engineering services to an assigned base of large / complex customers.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the retail industry.
  • Acts as a valuable resource to customers and the Sales team.
  • Works with customers to perform implementation reviews and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of technical or procedural challenges.
  • Advises customers on product integration and service transition, integration with other DN and 3rd party products, solutions and services.
  • Leverages persuasive sales methodologies to manage customer conversations and help drive deals to close.
  • Handles issues escalated from Pre-Sales Engineering colleagues, resolving on own or seeking advice / support from higher level team members.
  • Provides systems support, onsite or remote, for industry events.
  • Supports Sales by providing solution design, implementation and support for current and new customers.
  • Contributes to the development of improved Pre-Sales Engineering metrics, reporting and documentation.
  • Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Pre Sales Engineering.
  • Good business English skills (Written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Retail Store procedures and the utilization of technology within the environment.
  • General knowledge of Diebold Nixdorf products and services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Hardware/ Software and retail service solution sales, IT software integration experience would be advantageous.
  • Consultative sales experience with solution design is desired.
  • Exhibit skills, characteristics, traits and work habits that enhance the likelihood of success as a Sales Manager.
  • Strong communication, presentation, planning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills at levels of the organization, including management levels.
  • Proficient in all MS Office products with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
  • Possess experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce to maximize opportunities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
