Davies Claims North America is looking for a Workers’ Compensation Team Assistant to provide administrative support to our Workers’ Compensation team. Reporting to the WC Claims Supervisor, you will provide administrative support to claims adjusters, nurses, and claims supervisors by connecting with claimants via phone and email, scheduling medical appointments, entering data in our claims system, and drafting and sending required State forms. To be successful in this role, you need to be energetic, dependable, exhibit a positive attitude, maintain a strong work ethic, and be motivated to learn. You must have a High School diploma or above, be knowledgeable with medical terminology, and have data entry experience with special attention to detail. Additionally, you will need to have excellent telephone and customer service skills, great organizational skills, and superb time management skills. The right candidate will be interested in learning and working in the exciting and fast-paced workers’ compensation industry, as well as have a positive attitude and a customer-centric philosophy. This role is a full-time, remote position with the ideal candidate residing in Florida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Claims Supervisors and adjusters as needed
  • Maintain diary and workflow requirements
  • Prepare, copy, and mail State required forms and letters
  • Electronically compile documents for Excess Reports
  • Complete index inquiry forms
  • Copy and mail OJCC responses (PFBs)
  • Prepare and send DWC-25’s, DWC-19’s, and DWC-14’s as requested
  • Request police reports as requested
  • Provide training to new team assistants and/or adjuster trainees
  • Convey a positive attitude and teamwork for optimum provision of services to clients
  • Maintain CEU credits if licensed (FL All-Lines Adjuster or Workers’ Compensation License)

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Claims Supervisor, Assistant Claims Manager, Claims Managers, or QA Manager

Skills, knowledge & expertise

Required
  • High School diploma or above
  • Previous experience with data entry
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
  • Superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
  • High level attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working collaboratively and independently
  • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization
Preferred
  • Medical terminology knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of current workers’ compensation laws and statutes
