Overview

We lead the industry in the breadth and depth of how we support our customers—by becoming an extension of their internal team. Helping our customers deliver world-class care and service is the Services Team. The Services team is seeking a Business Analyst, who will operate as a spokesperson for the client’s business needs as they interact with the IS and IT groups to determine appropriate computer-related solutions to business problems. The Business Analyst provides analysis, definition and direction to computer-related development and maintenance activities, and assists with ensuring that correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the acquisition of business requirements from a variety of sources
  • Write detailed business requirements that can serve as the functional specification for developed solutions
  • Analyze EDI implementation guides to define data and rules requirements
  • Write rules for data mapping and transformation
  • Review and manage code sets
  • Analyze and report on data quality
  • Write proof of concept reports using a variety of reporting methods
  • Develop sample data for use in demonstrations
  • Provide back up support for support service related to analytic and reporting issues
  • Assist in the metadata development of the database including data marts
  • Assist technical writers in product documentation
  • Assist in the marketing and sales effort through development and review of healthcare content

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field required
  • 2+ years healthcare information experience
  • 3+ years of experience with healthcare EDI formats specifically HIPAA 837 files
  • Experience working with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) mapping, EDI analysis or healthcare transaction processing;
  • Experience in creating functional specifications, technical specifications, deployment instructions, operations guides and other systems documents
  • Experience analysing and solving business/systems problems in the healthcare or IT industry;
  • Experience using software engineering tools for configuration management, defect tracking, unit testing, system testing, build and deployment.
  • Experience using software life-cycle methodologies such as waterfall, agile-scrum in developing products and IT applications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
  • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
  • No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Base compensation ranges from $77,000.00 to $104,000.00. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
