Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, talented construction writer for our client. An ideal candidate should be able to conduct thorough research on construction industry topics, trends, and products to create informative, keyword-driven content, which optimizes organic traffic and improves search engine rankings.

This is a contract position for 10 hours per week for 6 months.

Objectives of this Role

• Rank on the first page on Google for specific, target keywords (we will provide)
• Become a thought leader in the construction tech industry (track by # of page views)
• Publishing 4 blogs/content pieces per month

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research on construction industry topics, trends, and products to create high-quality, informative content.
• Write well-researched, keyword-driven content to optimize organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
• Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas, develop content strategies, and plan blog topics.
• Attend weekly or bi-weekly virtual blog planning meetings to discuss content ideas, assignments, and deadlines.
• Adapt writing style and tone to suit different formats and target audiences, maintaining brand voice and identity.
• Stay updated on industry news, developments, and best practices to continuously improve content quality and relevance.
• Meet deadlines consistently and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to communicate through Slack or Monday.com
• Average of 4 blogs per month (750 words per blog) ranging from product-focused to industry trends.

Skills and qualifications

• Construction Writing Experience: Proven experience as a content writer, preferably within the construction or related industry.
• Excellent Writing Skills: Exceptional writing abilities and the skill to adapt tone and style to match our brand and audience. The candidate must also have impeccable grammar and attention to detail.
• Research Proficiency: Strong research skills, with the capability to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging content.
• SEO Knowledge: Understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
• Availability: Ability to meet in Eastern Time Zone hours.

• Working as a full-time freelance writer — without a typical 9-5 job
