We're looking for a mission-driven Specialist, Marketing & Social Media who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.
Your Impact at CNIB
- Coordinate with Direct Marketing, Marketing Communications, and Social Enterprise teammates to create a shared social media content calendar.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop social media posts or campaigns upon request.
- Research industry innovations and tactics to ensure best practices.
- Plan, create, publish and share new content (including original text, images, and video) daily that builds meaningful community connections, increases brand awareness, and encourages community members to engage with the brand.
- Field requests from stakeholders throughout CNIB. Post content according to best social media practices, accessibility standards and brand standards with a focus on quality in terms of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Grow the size of our social media audience and increase engagement.
- Social Media reporting and presentation support, organic social campaign analysis.
- Monitoring and responding to direct messages on social media accounts. As well as, actively participating in conversation on social media accounts.
- Support your network by interacting with industry professionals and influencer via social media.
Requirements
Who you are:
Education and Certifications
- Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum two years hands-on social media experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity and experience with social media marketing concepts and disciplines.
- Familiarity with modern social media platforms, Meta, X, Instagram, TikTok and others.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.
- Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong social media and brand ambassador thinking skills with an ability to develop and execute outside-the-box ideas in a fast-paced environment.
- Social media experience and strong knowledge of social media best practices.
- Professional attitude, results oriented, self-directed and flexible.
- Ability to provide strategic solutions to problems utilizing excellent analytical, problem definition, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability work well independently on routine tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work.
- Bilingualism an asset.
- Knowledge about assistive technology (screen readers, screen magnification, etc.) and how it can be used by people of different abilities to render the online experience accessible.
- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
