Overview

The Content Lead at WISE Digital Partners is a strategic–operational hybrid role dedicated to elevating content quality, maturing systems, and supporting cross-functional alignment. This position works closely with the Managing Editor to deliver high-quality website copy across several high-value industries. While up to 20% of the role includes senior-level writing, the core value lies in content strategy, workflow design, operational clarity, and resolving systemic issues that impact content delivery.

Responsibilities

Department Leadership via Content Strategy (50%)

• Lead content strategy for website builds, balancing search algorithm requirements with editorial quality and human-centered design.
• Reinforce agency-wide writing standards and maintain editorial consistency.
• Mentor writers in partnership with the Managing Editor, providing practical guidance and feedback.
• Strengthen upstream intake and downstream delivery through clear, early content requirements.

Develop Systems & Cross-Functional Operations (30%)

• Identify operational bottlenecks, patterns, and cross-functional gaps impacting delivery.
• Integrate Content and Design workflows to support scalable production with clear documentation.
• Lead explorations into resourcing models, including AI adoption and offshore partnerships.
• Stay current with AI tools and contribute to responsible AI adoption across processes.

High-Stakes Writing & Editing (20%)

• Produce senior-level copy for key website pages, brand messaging, and complex content flows.
• Edit escalated or reputation-sensitive content as requested by the Managing Editor.
• Synthesize SEO, UX, and brand voice to ensure aligned, high-quality content.
• Protect team writing bandwidth by communicating availability and recommending shifts in resourcing.

Requirements

Experience & Craft

• 5+ years writing or editing in an agency or cross-functional environment, emphasizing human-centered website content.
• A portfolio demonstrating clarity, strategic thinking, and strong editorial instinct.
• Comfort producing and refining high-stakes content.

Operational & Cross-Functional Literacy

• Ability to spot risks, analyze patterns, and recommend practical solutions.
• Experience working closely with SEO, Project Management, and Design.
• Strong time-management skills to balance writing with operational responsibilities.

Leadership & Communication

• Experience mentoring writers and supporting editorial growth.
• Ability to engage in healthy pushback and collaborate toward alignment.
• Strong communication skills with cross-functional partners.

AI Fluency & Tooling

• Ability to evaluate AI-generated copy and refine prompts.
• Experience integrating AI tools into workflows while maintaining quality.
