About Chameleon

Self-serve made simple

Increase activation with product tours, boost adoption with tooltips, get user feedback with surveys, and offer guidance with checklists.

We started Chameleon after being frustrated at poor user onboarding. We all know how important it is for new users to quickly reach “aha” moments 💡 and Chameleon enables this for our customers.

Companies like Highspot, Mixpanel, and Moz use Chameleon to offer personalized and contextual in-product user experiences, such as targeted slideouts, tooltips, banners, checklists, microsurveys, etc.

Some aspects of our culture and values include:

  • Empower each other

    • Offer support and be helpful but provide space for everyone to stretch their wings and fly high

    • We treat everyone like mature adults who care about their work and career and are motivated to succeed.

    • An example of this is the #input-needed Slack channel where we all share where we need inputs and anyone on the whole team can give suggestions and advice.

  • Adapt quickly

    • What got you here won't get you there; everything is open to change

    • One example of this is our meeting structure; we've changed and adapted what regular and recurring meetings we have as we grow and as we need.

    • Another example of our willingness to switch tooling; for example moving from Trello to Notion for our design specs

  • Embody Kaizen

    • We expect everyone to be continously improving; whatever you do next, it has to be better than the last time you did it.

    • People that will thrive at Chameleon are those that are able to learn quickly and are always scrutinizing to find opportunities for improvement

    • One example of this how we've continuously improved our sales materials over the last couple of years, in layers and levels, so that we continue to have an edge

  • Prioritize action

    • We need to move quickly and believe at our stage the best way to learn and grow is by doing, not by talking and discussing. While planning and research are important and should not be neglected, we want us all to act and execute urgently.

    • One example of this is that we decided we wanted to improve our trial conversion and within a week we had live on our dashboard a chatbot to help engage users and answer their questions

  • Maintain balance

    • Everything looks different when you zoom out; remember to not get caught up.

    • We want work to be an important, meaningful, and rewarding aspect of our lives. We want us to do the best work we can with each other. But we also know that life >> work and we need to find that balance.

    • We also need to find balance in how we communicate and react, and how we decide when to push, when to pull, and when to sit tight.

    • One example of this is our balance when growing and hiring — we want to hire at a pace that accelerates growth but allows new joiners to settle in and become part of the team.

We also care a lot about diversity and varied perspectives. We celebrate occasions such as Women's Day, Pride month, Earth Day; the Olympics and have a #women Slack channel and a recurring monthly "Women of Chameleon" chat; and ensure our job description copy doesn't display bias to certain groups.

We have a collective responsibility to provide opportunities for marginalized communities and we want to encourage you to apply, even especially if your background, preferences, or career path is atypical.

You'll get to meet some of the team and hear about their reflections on our culture later in the process.

We're in it to win it 🥇

We know startups can be risky, but we want to build a lasting business. We've been in the market for 4+ years, have achieved profitability (and in control of our own runway) and know there is a lot to build to transform our space.

Some key macro-trends that indicate that this is the right time for us:

  • Low code movement; tools that enable non-engineers to complete more jobs

  • Product-first approach; adoption, usage, and satisfaction with the actual software becoming the primary driver of software sales

  • Consumerization trend; everyone is now a software buyer so products have to speak the language of people and adapt to their needs

We are backed by one of the best Venture Capital firms in Silicon Valley- True Ventures, and supported by excellent angels like Auren Hoffman and Sheel Mohnot.
