Carrot Fertility is hiring an Integrations Automation Engineer to design, build, and scale automation and integration solutions across our business, placing a strong emphasis on AI to drive measurable operational efficiency. You’ll partner with teams across the company to streamline workflows, connect systems, and build AI-powered capabilities that help Carrot move faster and smarter. Experience with Workato is a big plus.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and implement scalable workflow automations, system integrations, and data pipelines that reduce manual work and improve reliability across business functions.
  • Build AI-powered automation solutions (e.g., intelligent triage, summarization, data extraction, content generation, decision support) using enterprise-safe LLMs and AI services.
  • Own end-to-end integration lifecycle: requirements, design, security review, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate with APIs, webhooks, and message queues to connect SaaS apps and internal systems.
  • Establish robust governance and guardrails for AI and automation: access controls, prompt hygiene, evaluation/QA, data privacy, observability, and cost management.
  • Create reusable components, recipes, and playbooks in Workato (or similar iPaaS) to accelerate new automations.
  • Partner with IT, Security, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet compliance, privacy, and risk requirements.
  • Lead enablement and upskilling: deliver trainings, office hours, and documentation to help teams adopt AI responsibly and effectively.
  • Define success metrics and measure business impact (time saved, error reduction, SLA improvements, user satisfaction).
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and continuously optimize integrations for performance, reliability, and cost.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a technical role (e.g., integrations, automation, RPA, software engineering, systems engineering, or data engineering) with a proven track record of delivering cross-functional automation initiatives.
  • Deep experience developing AI-based solutions for business audiences.
  • Hands-on experience building production-grade automations and integrations across business units (e.g., Finance, Operations, Customer Support, People, Sales/RevOps).
  • Strong proficiency with at least one iPaaS or automation platform; Workato is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in APIs and data formats: REST/GraphQL, OAuth2, JSON, CSV, webhooks, pagination, rate limits, and error handling.
  • Programming skills in Ruby, Python or TypeScript/JavaScript for custom connectors, transformations, and AI orchestration.
  • Solid command of SQL and data modeling for integrations, ETL/ELT, and analytics enablement.
  • Familiarity with LLM integration patterns (prompt design, function/tool calling, embeddings, retrieval/RAG, vector databases, evaluation/guardrails).
  • Experience with major enterprise apps (Salesforce, NetSuite), secrets management, role-based access control, and CI/CD.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, and to coach non-technical stakeholders on AI and automation.
  • Commitment to security, privacy, and responsible AI practices.

Nice to Have

  • Workato certifications (e.g., Automation Pro I/II).
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments, with attention to compliance and data protection.
  • Background in RPA (e.g., Blue Prism, UiPath) or BPM/workflow design.
  • Knowledge of observability and evaluation frameworks for AI (prompt testing, regression suites, safety/quality metrics).
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture (queues/streams) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Example Projects You Might Tackle

  • Work with our RevOps and Finance teams to build automations that boost seller productivity and forecast accuracy, and give us greater confidence in our revenue pipelines.
  • Partner with our customer care teams to build agentic solutions that create efficiencies and help us reduce our costs to deliver our services.
  • Build an AI-assisted intake workflow that classifies and routes requests, summarizes context, and drafts responses for internal teams.
  • Create a Workato recipe library that standardizes common patterns (data sync, enrichment, exception handling, alerting) for rapid reuse.
  • Implement a retrieval-augmented knowledge assistant to surface source-of-truth documentation and SOPs within existing tools.
  • Instrument automation KPIs and provide dashboards that quantify time saved, errors prevented, and process SLAs.

Compensation:

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $175,000.00 - $200,000.00. Carrot Fertility's customers, whether they are employers or individuals, often face significant challenges when navigating the complexities of fertility care and family-building. These journeys can be emotionally taxing, financially burdensome, and incredibly confusing due to the sheer volume of information and the deeply personal nature of the decisions involved. Many individuals and couples struggle with the high costs of treatments like IVF or egg freezing, which are often not adequately covered by traditional health insurance. They may also find it difficult to access reliable, expert guidance tailored to their specific needs, including support for adoption, surrogacy, or LGBTQ+ family-building paths. Furthermore, the process can feel isolating, with a lack of understanding or support in the workplace and society at large. This is why Carrot Fertility was founded: to provide comprehensive, inclusive, and accessible fertility and family-forming benefits.

Our customers are looking for solutions that simplify this complex landscape, offer financial relief, and provide compassionate, expert support every step of the way. Carrot Fertility addresses these needs by partnering with employers to offer a flexible benefits program that covers a wide range of services, from fertility preservation and treatments to adoption and gestational carrier services, as well as lifelong hormonal health support, including menopause and low testosterone. We empower our members by providing personalized care navigation, access to a global network of vetted clinics and specialists, and a user-friendly platform with educational resources. For employers, the challenge lies in attracting and retaining top talent while managing healthcare costs and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. By offering Carrot, companies demonstrate a commitment to their employees' overall well-being, supporting diverse paths to parenthood and family life. This not only helps employees feel valued and supported but also contributes to a more productive and engaged workforce. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or geography, has the resources and support they need to build their families and manage their hormonal health with confidence and dignity.
