About Caring Across Generations
Caring Across Generations is a national organization working to transform the way we care in this country. We bring together family caregivers, care workers, disabled people, and aging adults in a powerful movement to build the care systems we all deserve. Founded in 2011 by Sarita Gupta and Ai-jen Poo, our organization operates across three core pillars: organizing a powerful movement of caregivers and care recipients, fighting for groundbreaking policy at the state and federal level, and changing hearts and minds through storytelling, pop culture interventions, and cultural organizing.
We envision a world where care is accessible, affordable, and equitable so that everyone can live, work, and age with dignity. Our work focuses particularly on comprehensive aging and disability care, especially home and community-based services that allow people to remain where they choose. Through our national coalition-building efforts, regional partnerships, and creative campaigns like the One Million Care Conversations initiative, we are working to shift cultural norms and win policy change that will lift our economy and our families while creating and sustaining good care jobs. Many of us at Caring Across are caregivers ourselves, or have close connections to caregiving, which drives our commitment to this vital work.
