Our team is growing and we're looking for an IT Systems Administrator to administer on-premises and cloud-based systems and services.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administration of:
- Build, configure, and deploy Linux based servers, workstations, and virtual systems including software, authentication, file sharing services to support heterogeneous environments.
- Netapp Storage and associated tools.
- Windows based systems
- Backups
- Manage various levels of service requests.
- Field requests that require review of infrastructure configuration. Initial troubleshooting of user settings and application settings.
- Assist in critical incident support and resolution.
- Analyzes logs and related events to identify initial reported issue and possible downstream issues causing the reported event.
- Document system configuration and procedures
- Identify and resolve a wide range of issues.
- Experience will allow quick resolution of recurring issues. This role will work issues rarely seen or not seen before.
- Collaborate with internal personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Admin will collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and propose known solutions.
- Collaborate with external partners.
- Work with vendors to stay current on updates to existing technologies. Perform health checks and review best practices Calix should be following.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in IT or related Systems Administration role
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent expeirence
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks in an evolving environment
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity with business process and policies
- Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions that balance risk to business with no need for service interruptions
- Ability to identify root cause of an issue
- Availability for off hours meetings to support off shore teams
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Location:
This is a remote-based position in Mexico located in Mexico City or Monterrey.
