We are the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC), a diverse and influential alliance of stakeholders united by a common purpose: to transform the built environment across the United States. Our coalition brings together building industry leaders, energy providers, environmental organizations, local governments, and community advocates to accelerate the transition to clean energy in our homes and workplaces. We believe that by working together, we can create a future where all buildings are healthier, more affordable, and powered by 100% clean energy. Our work is centered on the core belief that eliminating fossil fuels from buildings is essential for improving public health, cutting climate and air pollution, creating high-quality jobs, and making our communities more resilient to the impacts of climate change. We are charting a clear and actionable course to achieve this vision through a multi-faceted approach that encompasses policy innovation, in-depth research, strategic market development, and compelling public engagement.

Our efforts are guided by a commitment to equity and justice, ensuring that the benefits of building decarbonization are accessible to everyone, especially those in frontline communities who have been disproportionately affected by pollution and climate change. We actively work to remove barriers, promote proven and innovative solutions, and establish standards for a swift and fair transition away from fossil fuels. Through initiatives like 'The Switch Is On,' we educate, inspire, and provide resources to empower consumers and contractors to embrace all-electric technologies. We foster strong partnerships and coordinate with a wide range of industry players to create the necessary conditions for a seamless transition. From California to New York, and across the nation, we are building a powerful movement to create a sustainable, zero-emission future for our buildings, ensuring a healthier planet and more prosperous communities for generations to come. We are a fully remote, national non-profit organization, driven by a shared passion and a collaborative spirit to achieve our ambitious goals.
