Accountant - QuickBooks Online (ZR_22186_JOB)

This is a remote position.

• Contract type: Independent Contractor
  
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Washington, Missouri time (1-hour unpaid break)
  

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accruals, general ledger entries, and journal entries.
  
• Prepare and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports.
  
• Work closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
  
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.
  
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxes and other regulatory requirements.
  
• Interact with clients to discuss financial matters, answer inquiries, and offer support as needed.
  
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and assist with training as necessary.
  
• Continuously monitor accounting practices and make recommendations for improvements.
  
• Manage reconciliations of various accounts, including bank and credit card accounts.
  

Requirements

• Extensive experience working with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting software.
  
• Comfortable following written AP and payroll SOPs
  
• Strong understanding of accruals, financial statements, and GAAP-compliant financials.
  
• Exceptional bookkeeping and accounting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.
  
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
  
• Experience in client-facing accounting roles.
