As part of Boeing’s Enterprise Software Products and Capabilities (ESPC) organization, our engineers develop and deliver software capability to the entire Boeing Enterprise including the Operating System,Middlewareand hosted application software development tools for current and future platforms.
This position will provide software engineering management and leadership over multiple application scrum teams providingaircraftinterface management tools, DO-330 certification and convergence into ESPC Utility Product Line Families. The utilities software development teamsare responsible forthe architecture, development,deploymentand certification of cloud-based software applications used in development and verification of Commercial Loadable Software Airplane Parts, and ensuring software application availability across 5 cloud run-time environments.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activitiesin the area ofSoftware Engineering
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies andproceduresand sets operational goals
Acquiresresources for projects and processes, provides technical management ofsuppliersand leads process improvements
Develops andmaintainsrelationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers,partnersand direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches,productsand processes
Manages,developsand motivates employees
Works with international teammates and organizations.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
2+ years of experience in leading or managing software engineering activities
5+ years of experience developing software in Java, C, C++
5+ years of experience ofIn-depth knowledge of the entire software development life cycle process including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience developing and driving software technical roadmaps
Experience coordinating development activities across many different technical and business organizations
3+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environmente.g.Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
Familiarity with developing commercial flight software per DO-178 or tools software per DO-330
