As an Engineering Manager at Big Health, you will play a pivotal, hands-on role in leading and inspiring the experienced engineering team developing our digital therapeutic apps. You will actively contribute to the technical development and evolution of our products while closely collaborating with our product, design, and clinical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and cross-functional cooperation to drive Big Health’s mission forward.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the VP of Engineering, Product Owners, and other cross functional stakeholders to establish and execute against our strategic plan for Software Engineering, in line with Big Health and Product strategies
  • Remain close to the technology with design, architecture, and code reviews
  • Build, lead and serve an effective team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • Implement engineering best-practices and develop technical strategy to guide short and long-term plans
  • Oversee product documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years successfully leading a cross-functional engineering team of 3 or more engineers
  • 7+ years software engineering experience
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Proficiency managing agile software development processes and tools
  • Working knowledge of web, mobile, and cloud
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Experience working with distributed teams

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Familiarity with AWS and its data related services
  • Experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda
  • Experience working with sensitive data (e.g. financial, health)
  • Experience developing regulated products, particularly in digital health
