About Avivo

We believe that everyone deserves the chance to live well and work well. Since our beginnings in 1960, we have been dedicated to serving Minnesotans, helping individuals and families overcome significant and complex barriers to achieve stability and success. Our work is centered on supporting those who face challenges such as poverty, homelessness, unemployment, chemical addiction, and mental health concerns. We are committed to fostering recovery, securing stable housing, and promoting employment and economic advancement for the thousands of people we serve each year. Our approach is holistic and person-centered; we understand that each individual's journey is unique, and we tailor our services to meet those specific needs. By pairing our comprehensive services, we create a robust foundation for health, social wellness, and economic prosperity that truly transforms lives.

Our mission is to increase well-being through recovery and career advancement while tirelessly working to end homelessness. We envision a community free from the health and economic disparities that so many face. This vision drives everything we do, from our direct services to our advocacy efforts. We operate the Avivo Institute of Career & Technical Education, which provides licensed, short-term training for in-demand careers, equipping our participants with the credentials and skills needed to secure living-wage jobs. Furthermore, our innovative housing solutions, like the Avivo Village, provide safe, dignified shelter and a pathway to permanent housing. We are more than just a service provider; we are a partner in our community's success. We collaborate with individuals, families, employers, and community leaders to build a stronger, more equitable Minnesota where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We are here to support, to empower, and to make a lasting difference, one person at a time.
