Position Overview

The Global Business Development team is a dynamic, innovative, and strategic team within the Autodesk worldwide sales organization, focused on fueling growth with the company’s largest, enterprise customers and scaling growth with the ecosystems of our customers. The team is driving demand for Autodesk solutions in the marketplace through actionable industry thought leadership and strategic business development programs that make our technology a unique fit for industry challenges. The Senior Business Development Executive for Transportation and Infrastructure is a strategic role in the sales organization that directly interfaces with Federal, State and Local infrastructure owners and the supply chains of AECO firms supporting these projects, to understand the application and influence the use of Autodesk technology

This work falls into two broad categories, “fueling growth” with our largest named accounts through actionable industry thought leadership and “scaling growth” through business programs across industry sectors. The Business Development Executive for Transportation and Infrastructure will influence the decision makers at our largest clients and with the owners of projects and puts Autodesk in the middle of our customers' supply chains, positively impacting named account, mid-market, and territory clients.

This is a remote position in the United States reporting to the Sr. Manager of Global Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Influence decision makers in the Transportation and Infrastructure ecosystem working for Federal, State and Local entities.
  • Woth with the Transportation and Infrastructure ecosystem of suppliers including key Autodesk customers
  • Perform as a Thought Leader for the Transportation and Infrastructure Industry and represent Autodesk, Autodesk technology, and Autodesk interests with customers, industry associations, Autodesk events, and conferences
  • Help our customer in winning new work by assisting them with proposal and RFP responses where Autodesk technology can influence the solution architecture of a capital project or program.
  • Work closely with Industry Strategy and Product teams and provide information valuable to their strategies around Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Develop, execute and manage ecosystem strategic programs to influence the customers of our customers, and the supply chains of our customers
  • Influence customer business initiatives and decision-makers through actionable thought leadership
  • Develop essential and effective relationships with executive-level / senior-level AECO customers and personas
  • Translate customer business initiatives, challenges, and opportunities into unique business value for Autodesk, ensuring the Autodesk team delivers Business Value to their client account(s)
  • Assist Autodesk teams in achieving growth and revenue targets with existing and new customers, work closely with Autodesk account teams on identifying and qualifying ecosystem opportunities
  • Development and execution of repeatable plays and insights to Autodesk account teams across all tiers
  • Drive adoption and growth of Autodesk solutions within this ecosystem through collaboration with Autodesk internal teams, Autodesk customers in all tiers, and other industry stakeholders
  • Drive strategic imperatives to maximize the impact of Autodesk customers on the entire industry ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience working in the AECO industry with applicable sales or business development experience
  • Specific experience in Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Government and public sector experience is key
  • Strong project and engagement management skills with a demonstrable history of effective projects
  • Previous experience working with industry associations, holding positions of influence in an association preferred
  • Credible and experienced with business & technology trends in Transportation and Infrastructure
  • Experienced with, and able to present digital transformation and platform use cases
  • A proven track record in attaining results as part of a team

  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of an organization's industry group, economic & technology, challenges, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters
  • Innovation: Develops and drives new ideas, technology and initiatives that improve an organization's performance
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts to enable sound decisions and business change in the context of our customer’s business outcomes and Autodesk growth

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $148,200 and $239,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
