Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Cloud FinOps Analyst to scale FinOps as a service for internal stakeholders. This role blends FinOps execution with expert analytics, Business Systems Analysis, and product ownership. You will strengthen FinOps culture through shared accountability and transparency, build self-service capabilities, and use automation to accelerate insight, recommendation, and optimization execution across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

This role can be based anywhere (remote) in the US.

Responsibilities

Build and operate FinOps as a service, product, community, and culture

  • Serve as FinOps Product Owner for stakeholder-facing capabilities, including dashboards, reporting, documentation, communications, enablement, automation self-service, and intake workflows

  • Maintain a FinOps services portal as the primary self-service entry point, ensuring stakeholders can easily discover available services, understand how to use them, and request help

  • Evolve the operating model for FinOps as a service, including backlog and prioritization, roadmap development, KPIs & adoption metrics, and continuous improvement cycles

  • Lead a FinOps Champion Network across engineering, finance, and product teams, including cadence, roles, playbooks, office hours, and shared goals that improve stakeholder self-sufficiency

  • Drive FinOps cultural practices that improve governance and decision quality, including show back adoption, KPI standardization, tagging expectations, and cost ownership rituals

Deliver advanced analytics, dashboards, and optimization

  • Build, maintain, and iterate dashboards and reporting in Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, and Turbonomic, ensuring metric definitions, data quality checks, and stakeholder usability

  • Develop repeatable analyses for anomalies, variance, and key cost drivers, and translate them into clear actions and decision support for technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Define and maintain reporting standards, including allocation logic, tagging and label requirements, and KPI definitions to improve trust and consistency

  • Identify optimization opportunities, and productize them into repeatable, automated motions, including detection, recommendation generation, execution workflows (with approvals where required), and post-change verification

  • Track adoption, realized outcomes, and regressions using measured feedback loops, for example, time-to-detect, time-to-act, and recurrence reduction, and continuously improve recommendation quality

  • Support cloud service owners in forecasting cloud spend, tracking performance against budget, and producing stakeholder-ready variance narratives that connect spend changes to drivers and actions

  • Improve effective cloud rates through commitments, negotiated pricing, and discount levers, and measure realized savings and coverage

  • Partner with cloud engineering to implement automation and guardrails that operationalize recommendations and prevent regressions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, including requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder facilitation, and shipping stakeholder-facing capabilities

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous problems, define metrics, validate data, and communicate defensible conclusions

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards in Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, and Turbonomic, or closely comparable experience with a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly

  • Working knowledge of cloud billing and pricing constructs, and comfort operating in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, and GCP)

  • Experience partnering with a technical community to drive automation, or the demonstrated ability to define automation requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing for documentation and executive-ready storytelling

  • Demonstrated customer-focused service mindset, including setting clear expectations, and improving FinOps documentation, communications, and self-service capabilities

  • Preferred Qualifications: FinOps Certified Practitioner (or higher), AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or similar certification
