Position Overview

Autodesk’s Technical Advisory organization is building a scalable knowledge platform that transforms implementation expertise from enterprise engagements into structured, reusable, and customer-facing guidance.

The Principal Content Model Lead is responsible for defining how knowledge is structured, standardized, and transformed into usable content. This includes owning content templates, structural standards, and the transformation layer that converts raw consulting knowledge into consistent, high-quality, and platform-ready outputs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Content & Knowledge within Global Delivery & Solutions, you will operate at the intersection of content production, knowledge systems, and platform experience. You will ensure that all content produced across solutions follows a consistent structure, is easy to consume, and is optimized for reuse and scalability.

In the first year, you will define and implement core content templates and structural standards, support Solution Development Managers in applying them, and ensure consistency and quality as the first set of customer-facing knowledge assets are built and published.

Responsibilities

Content Structure, Templates and Standardization

  • Define and own content templates and structural standards across artifact types (e.g. User Guides, Playbooks, Decision Pathways)
  • Establish clear patterns for how solutions are structured and presented
  • Ensure templates are practical, usable, and aligned with real-world consulting scenarios
  • Continuously refine templates and structures based on production experience and feedback
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies, duplication, and fragmentation across content

Content Transformation and Quality Enablement

  • Define how raw consulting artifacts and captured knowledge are transformed into structured, customer-facing content
  • Partner with Solution Development Managers to ensure all content adheres to defined templates and standards
  • Review and guide content during production to ensure structural consistency and clarity
  • Establish reusable patterns and guidance that enable contributors (SMEs, consultants, vendors) to produce consistent outputs
  • Support development of quality gates related to structure, completeness, and usability

Platform Alignment and Knowledge System Design

  • Collaborate with the Knowledge Acquisition Analyst to ensure alignment between captured data structures and content templates
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering to ensure content structures align with platform data models and user experience requirements
  • Ensure content structures support reuse, modularity, and scalability across solutions and industries
  • Contribute to improving how content is surfaced, navigated, and consumed within the knowledge platform
  • Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and reduce rework through better structural design

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in content strategy, knowledge management, information architecture, or structured content systems
  • Experience defining content templates, standards, or structured content frameworks at scale
  • Strong understanding of how to translate complex domain knowledge into clear, usable formats
  • Experience working with content platforms or structured data environments
  • Ability to balance standardization with real-world usability
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and domain experts
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, information science, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has designed and implemented structured content systems used across multiple teams or products
  • Understands how to turn messy, real-world inputs into consistent, reusable outputs
  • Can think systemically about how content, data, and user experience connect
  • Is detail-oriented with a strong focus on consistency and clarity
  • Is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Brings a pragmatic mindset — able to define standards without over-engineering
