Expert Moroccan Arabic (Darija) transcribers are needed to convert audio recordings into precise, conventionally formatted written transcripts. The work involves high-level linguistic judgment and requires native fluency in Moroccan Darija and strong command of Modern Standard Arabic.
Requirements
- Native fluency in Moroccan Darija with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Morocco
- Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic for orthographic decisions on Darija speech
- Working knowledge of French sufficient to transcribe French loanwords and code-switching
- Familiarity with regional Moroccan varieties and Tamazight-influenced vocabulary
- At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience
- Demonstrated accuracy at the word level under deadline pressure
