The American Chemical Society is seeking a Manager of Audience Engagement who will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing our digital marketing communications. This Senior Leadership Team member will oversee omni-channel engagement campaigns across email, social, web, and paid media. We are looking for a seasoned digital marketer able to focus on strategic marketing while working to ensure all marketing collateral is managed on time, on-brand and iteratively optimized based on data-driven insights. This role can be out of our DC office or remote for the right candidate.
Here’s what you will be doing:
- Utilizing data-driven insights, manage the team that strategizes and deploys omni-channel campaigns aimed at engaging audiences and retaining members
- Oversee two direct reports responsible for planning and executing US and Global outreach and engagement campaigns
- Mentor Audience team (both direct reports & indirect reports) to refine digital marketing skills and focus on data-driven measurable campaigns that ladder up to society-wide goals
- Partner across the society and with partners in Brand and Product Marketing to develop sound strategic marketing plans that meet shared team goals in a measurable, sustainable way
- This team leader will maintain an active role in tactical execution, ensuring communications are on-brand, adhere to marketing best practices, and ladder up to team goals
- Manage budget for Audience team programs, optimizing media mix to maximize impact
- Partner with analytics channel teams to plan and deploy A/B testing within the engagement communications streams and experiences
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing with heavy emphasis on digital marketing skills
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful lifecycle campaigns that improve audience retention and engagement
- CRM experience with a solid understanding of reaching the right person with the right message at the right time.
- A/B and multivariate testing experience
- Strong digital marketing skills - particularly in email, website & paid search
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic organization, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving
Division
Position Summary
This position will be primarily based in the Washington, D.C. office. The ACS Communications Division employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.
