The Sr Manager, Compensation supports the design, development, implementation and administration of base, incentive, and other pay programs to ensure the American Cancer Society maintains a competitive position in the market. Provides advice and guidance to leaders and HR partners regarding compensation standards and best practices to support the organization’s overall strategic objectives.

***This is a remote opportunity that can be home based anywhere in the United States. Workday knowledge and experience is highly preferred.***

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead internal/external compensation data analysis, interpret findings, develops and presents proposals/recommendations to senior leadership, HR business partners, and recruiters.

  • Provide project management and oversight for annual compensation programs. Develop and manage project plans and timetables.

  • Support compensation program design, communication, and implementation and provide design expertise in various program areas.

  • Provide direction and guidance to Compensation Sr. Analyst (nonsupervisory).

  • Provide compensation support (job matching and pricing of new roles, reviewing promotions and adjustments, etc.) to multiple executives in cooperation with their People & OD partner

  • Collaborate with recruiters to develop competitive offer packages for external hires

  • Makes administration decisions and compensation program recommendations to Director

  • Ensures ACS is in a competitive position in the marketplace, there is internal equity, and the organization is in compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Manages ACS’ participation in wage and salary surveys and the maintenance of that data for benchmarking.

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or similarly related field or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of progressive compensation and compensation management experience.

  • Workday experience preferred

  • Certification: CCP preferred

SKILLS

  • Broad compensation experience (base, bonus, and executive programs) with progressively increasing responsibility and complexity in a fast paced environment

  • Experience in leading large compensation initiatives and the ability to scale your thinking and expertise

  • Demonstrated professional business acumen, collaboration and relationship building that translates short and long-term strategy into actionable and measurable plans

  • Strong quantitative skills including advanced excel skills to model various compensation scenarios

  • Demonstrated experience of successfully executing against tight deadlines and proactive issue resolution

  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations

  • Ability to recognize and handle confidential documents and information professionally and in keeping with people team best practices

The starting rate is $95000 to $115000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
