Commercial Manager – Workshops

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager – Workshops to join our established Aftermarket team. Based from home, this role will champion the commercial approach of our Aftermarket workshops to be the leading supplier of services within our market sector.

Your dream role:

We need a Commercial Manager – Workshops to champion the commercial approach of Alexander Dennis Aftermarket workshops to be the leading supplier of services within our market sector. You will introduce the Commercial Management model to deliver the best service to the customer at the lowest cost, maximising ADL Aftermarket revenues & profitability.

  • This is a Permanent, Full Time, Home based role, working 8:00-16:30 Monday-Thursday and 8:00-13:00 on a Friday. Some travel to our UK sites will be required for the role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for ADL Aftermarket workshop commercial activities
  • Ensure that the workshops operate with effective commercial policies along with the associated monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
  • Identify opportunities for repair and refurbishment of ADL and non-ADL product.
  • Work closely with workshop managers to meet budgets and timescales.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for repair/refurbishment and maintain estimate retention levels whilst also maintaining profitability.
  • Maintain and develop strong working relationships with customers and other ADL stakeholders.
  • Work closely within the group to identify continuous improvement of customer service delivery.
  • Implement and champion culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.
  • Identify and implement cost efficiencies and additional revenue streams.

What you will bring:

  • You will hold a City and Guilds or equivalent in the motor industry
  • Previous experience in sales/customer facing roles along with previous commercial sales workshop experience – Truck, Van, or Car.
  • Knowledge of Bus and Coach products body, mechanical, electrical would be an advantage.
  • You’ll be Commercially Focused & Financially Astute
  • An understanding of budgetary control, forecasting and P&L.
  • Relationship building will come easily to you – across all levels of seniority and all areas of the business.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Things can be hectic here. You will remain calm under pressure and be able to prioritise a busy workload.
